"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord." - Psalm 27:13-14
Waiting is hard. Having patience is hard. Waiting on the Lord is one of my biggest areas of conviction and growth in my faith. I by no means think I have mastered waiting on the Lord. As I sit here writing this I'm waiting for countless things in my life. I don't know what you're waiting for, maybe it's a special occasion, meeting your husband, becoming a mother, starting over on your own. Whatever your waiting for, I know it's hard waiting for.
Over the summer I was working as a camp counselor. Most of my co-workers were in college and at the end of the summer when I realized I was only going back to high school, it was really hard for me to accept that. It's really hard to feel stuck in one place in your life and for me that place was high school. It was hard for me to accept, but I heard a great message and it completely changed my perspective of the coming school year.
Bloom where you are planted:
God has us in this place for a reason. He is using this time for His purpose and for the building of His kingdom. God is using this time to prepare us for the future, to bring us closer to Him, to teach us something about ourselves. Sometimes we just have to be still and live in the now. Because God's gotta bigger plan then we can see.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." - Romans 8:28
Live for now:

Live for now:
- Choose joy. Joy is a choice, its a conscious effort daily. It's hard sometimes, but if you go in with a joyful mindset and attitude with any and every task it will make this time in your life more fulfilling.
- Find ways to serve others. Seriously, just taking time away from yourself and your life to invest in someone else's life makes all the difference. It can also open your eyes to see your own blessings.
- Set goals not dreams. A goal is a way to help yourself grow as a person. A dream is something you build up inside your head and is food for discontentment.
- Try something new. Maybe this is God's way of pushing you in a new direction. Remember when God closes a door her opens a window.
- Invest in others. This might be the time for your to connect with that neighbor you never talk to, thank the fire department with cookies, or even just reconnect with that friend you haven't talked to in forever.
Pray about it with God. How can you bloom where you are planted?
