It's a new year. New year, new me.... am I right? Congratulations, we have successfully made it through the first week of 2018. A week ago we were writing resolutions, making bucket lists, and reminiscing on sweet memories of the past year. Now the week has passed and I'm sure I'm not the o only one sitting here thinking about I have "failed" at my new years resolutions already. And I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this new year hasn't changed much at all.
Last week I was still the same as I am today. My problems weren't magically fixed when the days changed. My struggles, my pains, my frustrations, haven't been wiped away in the new year. The goals I've set and the hopes I have for this year haven't come true. I know, I know, it's only been a week, but that's not the root problem of my thinking.
I'm asking God for what I want. I'm asking Him to take away the things I dislike and fill my life with the things I want. But, when I take the time to sit down and think about it the questions God places on my heart, I am challenged. He takes me in his arms and asks me: Am I enough for you? Am I the center of your world? If you lost everything tomorrow would you still take joy in knowing that I am here?
And that's when I realize I was wrong. The answer to everything is right infant of me.
God is always enough.
I repeat: God is always enough.
We hear it, we know it, do we always believe it?
Do we truly believe that God is enough for us?
When things are really hard to we accept that God is enough and that we don't need the fix? Can we accept God's perfect and not our own?
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." - 2 Corinthians 12:9
It's a new year. But my focus has changed completely. Maybe it's not about me- it's about Him. Maybe, the struggles of my life are part of my biggest blessings. In my earlier post "It's Ok to be Broken", I talked more about my journey in finding joy in the imperfect.
I encourage you to take a look at your expectations for the new year. Pray about it and see how God wants you to come into this new year. Think about how you can come closer to Him, and if you're desires are pulling you closer to Him or driving you away.
God is enough for my 2018. And He is enough always.
I thought I would share my newly revises new years resolutions to show you how you can grow this year while embracing that God is enough:

- #WordBeforeWorld. Check out http://wellwateredwomen.com/blog/i-resolve-2018-wordbeforeworld for more information about this challenge! Basically I am resolving to put God first in my life and keep Him as my number one priority.
- Spend every night with the Word. There is so much depth and wisdom on every page of the bible and my greatest desire is to dig deeper into the Word everyday.
- Serve others. Every time I do some sort of service, I vow to myself that I will do more. Currently God has been opening more doors in this area of my life and I look forward to see what I will be able to do for His kingdom this year.
- Share my faith! Sharing the good news and the fulfillment of having a relationships with Christ! "I'm a nobody, trying to tell everybody, about somebody, who will save anybody."
